KLO cadre held

Security forces from police and army apprehended a Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) from Maktaigaon area on Friday under Gossaigaon PS in Kokrajhar district, 

Identified as Ranjay Barman of Maktaigaon. He was involved with extortion, new cadre recruitment and arms peddling in the area. 

A pistol along with live bullet was recovered from him.

Woman set afire by husband battling life

A 26-years-old Morzina Bibi, a mother of two young children, resident of Kaimari Lakhiganj was battling life at Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital following set afire by her husband and family members on May 24 last evening. It is alleged that Morzina’s husband and family members brutally set afire with kerosene on May 24 evening pretending quarrel at her home and since then she was admitted to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital in a critical condition. Security forces arrested a NDFB-S link man from Augudi under Serfanguri PS today in Kokrajhar district. The arrested was identified as Alfrat Basumatary. A country made pistol was recovered from him.

Handicraft exhibition in Kokrajha

A seven day Handicrafts Exhibition 2016-17 began at Durgabari, Depot Road in Kokrajhar from Thursday. The programme is being organised by Bodoland Regional Apex Weavers’ & Artisans Cooperative Federation Limited (BRAWFED). School girl jumps off auto

A school going minor student was injured after she jumped off a running vehicle to escape sexual assault by the driver at Mokrabari here in Kokrajhar today. Sensational prevails in Kokrjhar following the incident.
