A seven day Handicrafts Exhibition 2016-17 began at Durgabari, Depot Road in Kokrajhar from Thursday. The programme is being organised by Bodoland Regional Apex Weavers’ & Artisans Cooperative Federation Limited (BRAWFED). Altogether 50 artisans from different parts of the BTAD region as well across the state participated the exhbitio and displayed their handicrafts.
Binode Narzary, Chairman BRAWFEd lighted the lamp to inauguration in the presense of artisans and publics. Narzary, in his speech said that the federation has been organising exhibition and expo in the region where they exploring weaving and handicrafts.
Caroline Poiner, fashion designer from Sydney,Australia and Praveen Chouhan, New Delhi graced as guest on the occasion. NN Rana Patgiri, Managing Director BRAWFED said that federation has been stressing to make healthy growth of the weaving sector in the region through which unemployed youths are getting job opportuities.
