Gogoi promises 1000 crore for BTAD
Preparing itself for the next Assembly election, the ruling Congress goverment has blown its trumpet at 64 No. Panery LAC of Udalguri district, one of the strong hold of the BPF party. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Rajya Sabha Member of state Santius Kujur, former Lok SabhaMP Madhab Rajbongshi, former Minister of state and Congress candidate for Panery LAC Durga Das Boro, Lankeswar Deka, President, All Assam Sarania Kachari Students' Union addressed a huge gathering at Bhergaon on Tuesday.
Lambasting the BPF, Tarun Gogoi stated that Udalguri district has been lying backward in comparison to other parts of state. Gogoi further stated "BTC Supremo Hagrama Mahillary has been baffled by saffron party in the name of Rs.1000 cr. "
Gogoi also said that Congress government has implemented development schemes for all class from meritorious students,new born babies to widows". He also boasted that there have been lots of development in his three tenures of government.He further blamed the electronic media of airing biased news to the audience. He also said that "BJP is the government of the affluent class and they play politics in the name of religion and they baffle common people by false promises". Gogoi appealed the masses to vote for Congress candidate Durga Das Boro. Gogoi also promised of Rs.1000 cr. Special package from state government for BTC region if they are voted to power in coming assembly election.
Addressing the mass rally Congress candidate for 64 No. Panery LAC Durga Das Boro stated BTC region has been taken to a doom and BPF has failed to provide security to the life and property of the people. It has also totally failed in all areas of development. He also said that Hagrama Mahillary's BPF has allianced with saffron party in the name of Rs.1000 cr. Lolipop. Boro further stated that the people of Panery LAC were fed up with the 15 years of misrule of the BPF. He said that he will look after all burning issues ,for which the common voters should extend their hands to the party.
The meeting was also attended by many district level leaders besides the members and office bearers of the local units.

UDALGURI: The Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance of newspaper reports of the alleged incident of police atrocities on a doctor in Chirang district on Friday.
AHRC has issued a notice to the District Magistrate, Chirang to cause an inquiry into the incident where media reports stated that the Officer-in-Charge of Amguri PS in Chirang District not only assaulted Dr. Madhurjya Kakati, in-charge of the Amteka Mini PHC but also made him to kneel down along with two others for not wearing masks.

TANGLA: A devastating inferno gutted six houses in Pujakhola locality of Tangla town on Tuesday night at about 9 pm.
Though the source of the fire has not been ascertained ,fire broke out followed by explosion of six cylinders razing the properties worth lakhs to the ground within minutes.

UDALGURI: A baby hog deer weighing about six kilogram was rescued by Mithu Sarkar and Ankit Tanti, two activists of Green Valley Wild Life Protection Society, an NGO of Orongajuli tea estate area today at about 3.00 pm and handed over this to the Udalguri forest department in a healthy condition.
While talking to this correspondent, Mithu Sarksr informed that the NGO has been instrumental to rescue young ones of hog deers, wild elephants, tiger cubs in the near past too and till date, it has been able to rescue such animals which came to their notice.
