Vehicular thief arrested

Salakati police in Kokrajhar district arrested a vehicular thief late last night at Salakati rail track. 

He was identified as Naba Das of Belsar in Nalbari district, who was involved with stealing of a four wheeler Mahindra pick up van bearing registration AS-16C-2207.

An FIR was registered no.138/16 with Salakati police outpost in this connection, under section (u/s) 457/380/411 IPC.

Women’s Day celebrated at NTPC

Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project also joined the rest of the country in celebrating International Women’s Day here at Salakati on Tuesday in Kokrajhar district. UtpalChakrabarti, Group General Manager of NTPP spoke at length about the history of this august day and how at present society, women are leading at important positions throughout the world. The celebration began with a cake cutting ceremony by the women employees of NTPC Bongaigaon alongwith CISF and UPL.This was followed by a brainstorming session on this year’s theme-“Pledge for Parity”.
