In much delight for the people of East Siang, General Hospital –Pasighat has been awarded best hospital in the state under Union ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s national initiative ‘Kayakalp’ for rendering best Public Health Facilities. Chief Minister Kalikho Pul handed over the award consisting of certificate and cash award of Rs 50 lakhs to the Medical Superintendent General Hospital Pasighat Dr Yater Ringu Darang here today at CM’s conference hall.
Kayakalp was instituted in 2015 by Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Government of India under Swachh Bharat Mission to award those public health facilities that demonstrate high levels of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control as a compliment to their efforts. Out of Rs 50 Lakhs award money, 25 percent (12.50) lakhs would be distributed to the hospital staffs as cash incentives while the remaining amount would be utilised for improvement of the health delivery services in the hospital.
Congratulating the team of General Hospital Pasihgat, Chief Minister Pul has also assured to sanction another cash incentive of Rs 12.50 lakh for the staff of the said Hospital. Such novel initiative of Government of India will surely encourage better health delivery system in hospitals said Pul while appealing the delegates of doctors to work with authority and responsibility.
He also directed the Directorate of Health Service Director Dr Moji Jini to issue notification to all district hospital heads to undertake some of the initiatives of General Hospital Pasighat like calibration of equipments, proper arrangement of medicines and consumables, prescription auditing etc. He also advised the DHS officials to conduct surprise visits to the hospitals to get first hand information of functioning of the district hospitals.
