Junior Archery championship in Kokrajhar
A two-day scheduled programme of the 11th All Assam Inter District Junior Archery Championship,2015 has gets underway from today at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar.
Nearly 100 participants from 15 districts of the state participating in the championship and presented their excellency of of sports talents in Olympic Round and Indian Round category of competition performing 30 metre,40 metre and 70 metre for Distant Indian and Recurve Round.
BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary inaugurated the championship,was jointly organised by Assam Archery Association ad Kokrajhar District Sports Association.
Borgoyary,in his speech extended his best wishes towards successful of the championship which will encourage to create good sports personality in the state.
Ajay Kumar Basumatary,vice-president of the Assam archery Association told that the championship has been organised for two-day programme scheduled in Kokrajhar.Neraly 100 participants from various districts of the state participated.He said that the championship will create good numbers of archers in the state and those who were to be selected for first,second and third position,they would be forwarded for nation level events in the country.
BTC excutive member Doneswar Goyary,Nabajyoti Basumatary,secretary of the association were prominent attendees in the inaugural function.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
