Bodo sabha slams govt's insincerity
The Bodo sahitya sabha has slammed state government for its insincerity role towards solution of various issue and demands raised from sabha regarding development of language and medium.
Dr Kameswar Brahma, president of the sabha hoisted sabha flag in the presence of huge thronged of writer and publics on its second day of ongoing 55th annual conference of the sabha held at Birhangaon ground in Chirang district on Saturday. Dr Brahma received guard of honour march-past presented by volunteers.Biseswar Basumatary, vice president of the sabha paid homage to martyrs, who were sacrifice their lives to the caused of Bodo language and literary development.
Dr Brahma alleged the state government of Assam that the government never want development of Bodo language and medium, of which why still today Bodo language has been deprived from its proper development so far. The sabha has been demanding solution of various issue and demanding since long years which included separate directorate for Bodo medium, appointment of teachers in Bodo medium schools; but govt has yet to take stern steps to the demands, he said.
'We will continue our democratic agitation to put pressure regarding solutions of the demands till achieve of sustainable development and growth of Bodo language and medium', said Dr Brahma also express serious concern over the step motherly attitude of state government towards gravity of the sabha's issues. He said that the sabha has invited all tribal sahitya sabhas except Assam sahitya sabha in the session citating that the sahitya sabha has not been sincerity towards tribal sahitya sabhas including Bodo sahitya sabha in the state.
LW Kongwir, executive director of Bongaigaon Refinery (BGR), Dhaligaon inaugurated the Aie Serfang, souvenir and the History of Bodo Literary book on the occasion.
Altogether 30 books including souvenir, poem, short stories were opened in the book inauguration session of the conference.
Noted writers Taren Boro, Dr Mangalsingh Hazoary, Ranjit Kumar Borgoyary, Harinarayan Kaklary, Sushil Kumar Brahma were prominent attendees on the occasion.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district.
