2 crores for fire ravaged DEM Hr. School
The state government has sanctioned 2 Crs. for restructuring of fire ravaged Daying Ering Higher Secondary School, Pasighat. This was informed by the PMC Chief Councilor Denong Tamuk today while chairing a coordination meeting at the auditorium of the said school in presence of Advisor to Chief Minister Bosiram Siram, ZPC Kaling Dai, DDSE Obuk Panor, Dy. Chief Councilor Kaling Darang and councilors, Principal, Vice-Principal and teaching staffs. In his address, Tamuk informed that receiving information the state’s Education Minister Tapang Taloh has expressed shock and his concern over fire mishap that devoured seven rooms of the school in the wee hours and immediately sanctioned Rs. 2 Crs. for reconstruction of a well planned RCC multistoried building on priority. The Chief Councilor himself on behalf of PMC assured to provide 20 chairs and a computer as immediate relief. He also assured to launch a special cleanliness drive in the school. Before concluding his deliberation, Tamuk advised fire distinguishers and other protective measures in all institutions and government installations, adding that foul play cannot be ruled out.
Advisor to Chief Minister Bosiram Siram sought magisterial inquiry before the cleanliness drive and urged the engineering departments to restore water and power supply immediately in the school to bring normalcy. Appreciating the administration, Siram informed that he had good discussion with the DC and DDSE for immediate relief. He asked to prepare list of requirements and proposal and to submit to the DC so that administration can forward to the government. The DC is proactive and has assured to manage to provide computer and printer, cyclostyle/copier machine, some desks & benches etc at the earliest possible so that day to day class room and office transactions are not hampered. Siram asked the DDSE to alert Chowkidars of all schools to guard all institutions properly so that such accidents are not repeated in future. He handed over ten thousand cash to the Principal on the occasion.
Very upset ZPC Kaling Dai extended his thanks and gratitude to the education minister for his prompt and favourable action. He urged the minister and former education minister Bosiram Siram to mobilize the issue at higher level so that fund is released immediately and construction work is started soon.
DDSE Obuk Panor who worked for a long in the said school as Principal informed that the matter has already been discussed with the superior authorities and he would leave no stone unturned for restoration process. Advisory note on preventive measures to avoid such accident in future have already been given to all the school authorities, he further added.
Senior citizen and Ward-5Councilor Kaling Doruk also donated ten thousand rupees from his own pocket and urged the administration and municipality to clear all debris to have a fresh feeling in minds of the teachers and students. He further assured to pressurize the local MLA and administration for immediate relief grant.
Dy. Chief Councilor Kaling Darang who also local councilor of the area informed that Loksabha MP Ninong Ering would visit the school on Jan-24 next and extend all possible help from his discretionary fund. Principal AP Rukbo and Vice-Principal Aroti Padung Pada also spoke and shared their views.
