Itanagar, Aug 15: Reigning Mr. Arunachal Pradesh Tao Rakap has etched his name in history by storming into the Top 12 finalists of Mr. India 2025 (Season 2), becoming the first-ever contestant from Northeast India to achieve this milestone.
Rakap, who hails from Arunachal Pradesh, described the achievement as “a dream come true.” Reflecting on his journey, he admitted that stepping into the world of beauty pageants initially felt daunting due to the tough selection process. “When you give your 100 percent and do your best, the universe works in amazing ways. From being shortlisted in the Top 100 to making it to the Top 12, and that too as the first boy from the Northeast—it feels incredible,” he said in an interaction with The Space.
Challenging stereotypes, Rakap shared how some contestants believed his distinct Northeastern looks might work against him. “I want younger generations to know that our looks are not a disadvantage. They are unique, and with confidence and personality, you can achieve great things,” he emphasized.
The model-actor, who also has a sporting background, said his ultimate goal is to make his state proud. Looking ahead, he pledged to give his “110 percent” in the upcoming rounds. He also extended gratitude to the organizers for their support and to God for his achievements.
Organized by The Times Group, the Mr. India platform acknowledged Rakap’s feat on social media, hailing him as a “charismatic model and actor” and congratulating him for directly securing a spot in the finals. “With his talent and determination, he is all set to shine. Huge congrats, Tao! The spotlight is yours,” the official page stated.
Rakap’s achievement places Arunachal Pradesh—and the entire Northeast region—firmly on the national pageant map, marking a proud moment for the state and its people.
