BPF burns copies of vernacular newspaper

BPF, ruling party in BTAD burnt copies of the Asomiya Pratidin, a vernacular daily newspaper of Assam, in protest against reporting of news brought out in today's issue about rift in between BPF President Hagrama Mohilary and former minister and MLA Chandan Brahma.

BPF activist and supporters shouted slogans against daily newspaper and burnt the copies of daily newspaper at JD Road near Bajwi Hotel in Kokrajhar and Bazar Road at Salakati today. The party has slammed the daily newspaper for unwanted reports about rift in between Mohilary and Brahma, which was very unwanted remarks for the party. Party has claimed that party was not rift in its position and working in a unity strength.

Doneswar Goyary, BTC executive member and party leader said that party was not in rift as reports published in the daily newspaper. 'The newspaper has been reported baseless news which is not unwanted and such kind of information was not raised within party', he said. BTC executive member Rajib Brahma and party,was also present in the protest. In separate protest programme at Salakati, party activist and supporters strongly reacted to the news carried out relating rift in between Mohilary and Brahma, has warned to move for legal aid if such unwanted reporting continue.

Brahma, reacting to the reports said that no such rift was arisen within party and party was working to the tune of unity and integrity.He has termed that the news published against him and party was totally baseless and had a deep conspiracy penetrated on zealous of party development and interest in the region ahead assembly election in the state.

Police in its operational initiative able to apprehend three link men of the National Democratic Front of Boroland(Songbijit faction) militant outfit from Harjhora area under Bagribari PS in Kokrajhar district today. As many as 13 fishermen were arrested by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday inside deep jungle of Sarpang district of Bhutan while going illegally into the neighboring country. According to a senior police officer in Kokrajhar, thirteen persons from Kachugaon area of Gossaigaon subdivision illegally entered seven kilometers into Bhutan territory to fishing inside deep jungle where they were caught by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday and then handed over them to Kokrajhar police.
