Vocational training in Tangla College soon

Gram Tarang Employment & Training Services, the social entrepreneurship arm of the Centurion University of Technology and Management  of Odisha is going to impart diploma courses in sectors like IT, Tourism & Hospitility and Retail in Tangla College from next academic session.This was observed by a three member team of Gram Tarang who visited Tangla college today. The team comprised of Pinku Deka,Amaresh Sinha and was headed by Satindra Nath Bhattacharya.Talking to this correspondent Bhattacharya said that Gram Tarang, Gram tarang is a social entrepreneurial initiative in skill training working in largely underdeveloped region and committed towards providing young people with employable skills. Their basic aim is making rural India Job ready. The expected impact from Gram Tarang is to drive self-sufficiency and inclusive economic participation in local communities by ensuring sustainable employment with an additional focus on empowering women and marginalised classes, enduring development of local solutions through micro entrepreneurship.Gram Tarang have been training and giving job placement to people living in the villages and semi urban area across the country since 2009.

In yet another incident of violence on NE people a youth of state was brutually killed by miscreants at Bhatni station of Uttar Pradeshon on night of February 21 at about 9 in the morning. The deceased Ramen Boro (35), son of Langhidhar Boro of Malmura village, Tangla was working in Mumbai. He boarded a home bound train on February 20 when he was brutually killed by miscreants at Bhatni station in Uttar Pradesh. Ramen had left for Mumbai three months back to work in a private firm. Rajya Sabha MP Santius Kujur laid three foundation stones at different places in 64 No. Panery Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. Foundation stones were laid at Orangajuli and Bamunjuli for the construction of village roads while foundation stone for construction of wall of a  Church in Orangajuli Tea estate was also laid down. A herd of wild elephants created havoc in Rajapara area near the Indo-Bhutan border of Udalguri district on Monday morning last. Wild Tusker damaged the walls  and ate paddy stocks in the house of one Mahendra Deka.  Two other commercial shops at Nalapara chowk area were also damaged by the Tusker. Though forest officials were informed about the matter they had turned deaf ear to it alleged the local residents. A voter awareness rally was taken out at Tangla  today by Tangla College students, ASHA and Anganwadi workers with the help of Udalguri district administration. The rally was inagurated by Dimple Baruah, Assistant Commissoner Udalguri. The IQAC cell of Tangla College headed by its co-ordinator Satyen Sarma had introduced a three months "Functional Knowledge Certificate Course" on Spoken English , Internet Correspondence, Personality Development for 6th semester students of Tangla College. The inauguration ceremony of the same was held on February 18 at the college conference hall. The members of All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathon (AIMSS) Udalguri district committee took to streets today in protest of the attrocities on women and children.
