Spoken English introduced at Tangla College
The IQAC cell of Tangla College headed by its co-ordinator Satyen Sarma had introduced a three months "Functional Knowledge Certificate Course" on Spoken English , Internet Correspondence, Personality Development for 6th semester students of Tangla College. The inauguration ceremony of the same was held on February 18 at the college conference hall.
Speaking on the ocassion Rajen Kalita former HOD Department of English mentioned the importance of English language in today's age of globalization. The programme was also addressed by Jayanta Chakravorty, Associate Professor of English department of the college. Professor Ashim Roy the course instructor of the course also spoke on the ocassion.

It was the year 1999 when UAE first witnessed Rongali Bihu celebrations in a organised way. With each passing year the celebrations have grown in scale and grandeur thanks to the tireless efforts of the Axom Xamaj, UAE and active participation from each and every member of the community. Rehearsals for the big day are underway in every household and everyone is eager to put his/her best foot forward as it is a rare opportunity in a foreign land to showcase the cultural mosaic that is Assam.
Over the years acclaimed artistes from the Assamese music and tinsel world have graced the Bihu celebrations in the UAE and this year is no exception. Barasha Rani Beshoya, the darling of the Assamese silver screen ; the versatile Diganta Bharati and noted percussionist Partha Goswami will be the star attractions and fans here are eagerly anticipating a virtuoso performance from the trio.

Puwati xahitya xabha and Bokakhat Moina parijat observed Shilpi diwas with day long programme on January 17. In morning time Mr Monuranjan Sen ,President of Bokakhat puwati xahity xabha hosted the flag while Mr.Thaneswar Hazarika,Ex-principal Bokakhat JDSG college inaugurated Smritli tarpan.
A discussion meeting “Asomiya sanshkriti and Jyotiprashad Agarwalla” was presided over by Mr.Sen, the president,Dr.Tileswar Baruah inaugurated the meeting, Mr.Bhobesh Saikia and Mr.Suren Gogoi both the adviser of the xabha took part as a speaker in the discussion elaborated the contribution of Agarwalla to the development of asomiya culture. Mr Dharmendar Doley and Mr. N khound also spoke in the occasion.
Prof Atul Bezbaruah and a team of Anganabad workers of Bokakhat training centre presented songs of Jyotiprashed Agarwala in the meeting.
Earlier a meeting condoled for death of Late Lohit Borah an retd WD of PWD and silpi of Kaziranga who breathed his last on last night of 16th Jan in the Jorhat hospital.

The Army on Thursday claimed that Hira Sarania, the hardcore leader with the ULFA’s crack unit 709 is under mental pressure. Now he cannot repose faith even on his bodyguards. This has made him bound to change them frequently.
