A war like situation grips Itanagar and Naharlogun here an escalating group clash forced the authorities to clamp 144 Cr PC in the twin capital town of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday.
Initially, a huge crowd gathered in front of the Assembly House to disrupt the session which began alleging that the Governor has summoned the session to disturb the Nabam Tuki government. The supporters of the chief minister further stoped many MLAs halfway.
Suddenly another crowd appeared in the scene in support of the session which, they said, was required to legislate a bill to end the Chakma Hajong impasse.
At a moment both the groups started attacking each other with stones and sticks forcing the policemen to sprang upon the people with lathi charge and blank firing.
All shops and business establishments, schools and colleges, banks and offices refused to open.
These uneasy scheme of things have marred the controversial 3 days session of the Assembly.
