Tangla Bengali students unit celebrates

The 15th foundation day celebration of Tangla college unit body of All BTC Bengali Youth Student's Federation was held on Friday at Bordoloi Bhawan, Tangla. The meeting was presided over by Chief Adviser ABBYSF Shyamal Sarkar. The function was marked by dance programme where students of Tangla college and various Junior College of the town performed.

TANGLA: A  devastating inferno gutted six houses in Pujakhola locality of Tangla town on Tuesday night at about 9 pm. Though the source of the fire has not been ascertained ,fire broke out followed by explosion of  six cylinders razing the properties worth lakhs  to the ground  within minutes. UDALGURI: A baby hog deer weighing about six kilogram was rescued by  Mithu Sarkar and Ankit Tanti, two activists of Green Valley Wild Life Protection Society, an NGO of Orongajuli tea estate area today at about 3.00 pm and handed over this to the Udalguri forest department in a healthy condition. While talking to this correspondent, Mithu Sarksr informed that the NGO has been instrumental to rescue young ones of hog deers, wild elephants, tiger cubs in the near past too and till date, it has been able to rescue such animals which came to their notice.
