Craft bazaar got underway in Kokrajhar
Over 100 artisans from various states of the country participated in the Craft Bazaar 2015-16, Kokrajhar which has begun here at Rashmela ground with 10-days programme in Kokrajhar today.
Former Minister and MLA Pramila Rani Brahma lighted the lamp to inaugurate the bazaar attending as chief guest in the presence of artisans and officials.
In her speech Brahma said that the handicraft tradition can extend helping hand to earn livelihood among citizens. She has urged the artisans to be dedicated while producing of handicraft products in their life and earn more money among society.
NN Rana Patgiri, managing director of Brawfed said that the federation has been organizing craft bazaar and expo across the country where traditional habdloom production and handicrafts are getting exposure. He said that the federation was working to grow more products in the country.
The opening session was chaired by Binod Narzary, chairman of BRAWFED.

The bazaar was organized by BRAWFED where participants from various states like host Bodoland, Assam, West Bengal, Punjab, Manipur, Nagaland, James & Kashmir participated.

Finally, Proneeta Swargiyary clinched the DID Season 5 title by the Zee TV fetching no less pride and glory for the north eastern region. Proneeta, a school girl hailing from Baska district of Assam was adjudged the best one on Friday in Mumbai. The recorded event would be screened in Zee TV Saturday. Hundreds of employees of BTC temporary employees staged three dharna in front of DC office in Kokrajhar raising their demand and grievances on Friday. Their demands include steps to regularize their jobs and fresh appointment either fixed pay or regular in the council. A student of Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar identified as Jangila Basumatary, 25, died and a rider received injury early this morning at a road mishap in Kokrajhar town. Jangila was last year student of B Tech in CIT, Kokrajhar met a road mishap at Habrubari over bridge this morning around 4.30 am with his bike. Police arrested a hardcore NDFB-S militant from Kahurbaha in Baksa district on Wednesday.
