Proneeta fetching glory for NE
Finally, Proneeta Swargiyary clinched the DID Season 5 title by the Zee TV fetching no less pride and glory for the north eastern region. Proneeta, a school girl hailing from Baska district of Assam was adjudged the best one on Friday in Mumbai. The recorded event would be screened in Zee TV Saturday.
Many organizations and individuals in the state are celebrating the victory as soon as the result of the event spread like wild fire across the north eastern region. Various organizations in BTAD have been campaigning for Proneeta for the last couple of days.

Guwahati City Police will take on Salbag Sports Club in Gossaigaon in the 18th Daoharu Mungklong Trophy tournament at Dotma DASA ground in Kokrajhar on Monday. Kachugaon Bardwi Shikla Sports Club defeated Barhoongka Athletic Club, Kokrajhar 5-4 through penalty kick in the inaugural match of the 18th Daoharu Mungklong Trophy 2015, has been kicked off on Sunday.
Pranab Das of Barhoongka netted his first goal in the very beginning 9 minutes against Bardwi Shikla. Okhrang Narzary of Bardwi Shikla equalize the match scoring goal against Barhoongka in 24 minutes of the first half and led the match 1-1 . Both the team tried to give goal during game time, but failed to score goals and held draw.
Later, a penalty kick wax conducted where Bardwi Shikla beat Barhoongka AC 5-4 and forwarded to play another round. Among others, MLA Pradip Kumar Brahma, BTC executive member Rajib Brahma, sports organisers were present on the day.
A total of 10 teams from parts of the state and various states of the country including ASEB, Guwahati; South East Railway, Jharkhand; City Police, Guwahati; Barhoongka AC, Kokrajhar; Coochbehar Municipality FC, West Bengal; DASA Xi, Dotma; Bardwi Shikla, Kachugaon,; Gossaigaon Salbagan Sports Club are participating the trophy.
The final match would be played on October 16. Championship team would be awarded cash 50,000 and trophy while runners up team would be give away cash 25,000 and trophy.

Finally, AASU has called off strike against Oil India Limited in Duliajan.
But the respite is temporary as the student body lifted it in view of the large scale inconvenience of the common people who has been repeatedly asked AASU to do it.
The decision was taken after the oil giant authorities agreed to talk to them on Saturday.
AASU leaders told Assam Times that the 300 hour strike resulted in the state’s dimal power scenario due to marginalized power supply of gas by the oil giant to the thermal projects and Neepco projects.
The strike was called by AASU in protest against the alleged anomalies in the recruitment of 300 unskilled workers.

Talking to reporters in Guwahati on Wednesday, Sarma said the dreaded militant leader has been hiding somewhere outside the country.
“He is advising his fellow militants from outside the country,” said the DGP after he attended a function in Guwahati on Wednesday.
But what about G Bidai alias Bishnu Goyari? The NDFB-S vice-president who unleashed the December-end bloodbath is believed to have been criss crossing between India and Bhutan if Sarma is to be believed.
Sarma said there was no question of withdrawing operation against the Bodo militant outfit.
