In yet another major change in the pre poll political landscape in Dima Hasao district, several Congressleaders are believed to have been preparing to join BJP. The date of joining has yet to be decided. Even after Thaosen quit the post, BJP has not formed it only because of the deal. They include Debojeet Thaosen, Kulendra Daulagupu, Denis Teron, Laljoshua Baite, Devojit Bathari, Samuel Changsan and Tushar Kanti Deb who have agreed to join BJP if they are allowed to remain in power.
The sudden development took place a few days after the Debojeet Thaosen resigned after the Congress-led council was reduced to minority when 2 members joined BJP apart from three independents.

Such folly & greedy act on the part of congress influence people to enter BJP is unwelcomed. These people have completely eaten up all developmental funds.
I myself have supported Mr.Samuel Changsan but after seeing his double face I have ceased to follow his footsteps. They should be barred from this district altogether

Amid tight security polling in the Guwahati civic bodies begins across the city. Over 7 lakh voters are free to decide on the fate of172 ward councillors along with 356 area sabha candidates. The polling started at 7 in the morning at 862 stations. Assamtimes team came to see huge queue of voters in Beltola, Paltanbazar, Chandmari areas even before the voting started. The polling will end at 4 in the afternooo. If this weather stays the voting is expected to be higher. Counting will take place on June 24. Assam will give quick update of the polling throughout on Wednesday.
Preparations are complete to ensure smooth conduct of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) election on Wednesday.There will be 15 zonal magistrates and 72 sector officers monitoring the situation across the city in order to maintain law and order during the election. He will take charge after Das retires on the last day of this month," Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi told reporters in Guwahati Varma, a 1978 batch IAS officer, is currently the Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Social Welfare and Public Health Engineering Departments. The incumbent Naba Kumar Das, a 1976 batch IAS officer, will retire on June 30.
