Manipur JAC thanks tribal leaders
The Churachandpur Joint Action Committee thanked P A Sangma, Neiphiu Rio, Lalthanhawla, T. R Zaliang for throwing their weights behind the tribal agitators in Manipur who will have to bear the brunt of the controversial bills if cleared by the Centre.
In a statement, JAC said that the tribal leaders of their stature acknowledging the plight of the underprivileged people and the standing up for the cause of tribal unity in realizing the dream of self-governance within the purview of the Indian Constitution.
According to JAC, Sangma, Rio, Lalthanhawla and Zaliang are the need of the hour to fight against the implementation of the three infamous bills which are intended to curtail the rights of tribals in Manipur.

Most of the Manipur rivers were flowing close to danger level on Tuesday as heavy rains continued to lash the state since the last couple of days. Two teenage boys died while another sustained injuries after they were electrocuted at Tuikot village of Churachandpur district on Tuesday. The slain teenagers are identified as Thangminlien of Lhanjang village and Onkam of Tuilaphai village. The injured is identified as Gogou of Dumdephai village. According to a report, the incident happened when the trio went to Tuikot village for music rehearsal for Evangelical Churches Association (ECA) Youth Golden Jubilee to be celebrated next year. An explosion occurred near Kasturi Bridge of Thangal bazaar under Imphal Police Station in the capital city this evening, but there were no casualties. The police believed the explosion that happened around 7 pm was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The blast caused some damage to nearby Mahavir Medico Pharmacy. None was hurt in the incident. Police said they were investigating the blast. In March this year, a blast near the Kasturi Bridge injured eight persons, two of them critically.
