Fate of Ch’pr still uncertain

The fate of the nine bodies of the Churachandpur protestors is still uncertain. Protesters told Assam Times that JPO is taking care of the bodies in the morgue where traditional herbs are being used. The injured people have also been undergoing treatment in the hospitals. JPO have received a donation more than 47 lakhs to help the victims’ family members.

Chief of Army Staff visits Manipur

7 hurt in clash over land in Manipur

Imphal, Dec 16 (NENA): Seven villagers were injured, one of them seriously, after violent clash erupted between two groups at L Tangnaum (Harapthel) village under Sapormeina Police Station over an ongoing land dispute on Saturday. Chingsubam Rame, 45, got hit by a bullet during the clash that happened around noon, sources said. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in April this year removed the red beacon from his car, thus becoming the first Union minister to do away with the VIP culture and exhibitionism. Attack on Assam Rifles convoy in Kamjong

IMPHAL: Manipur on Saturday averted a Chandel district like militant attack when a group of rebels made an abortive attempt on an Assam Rifles convoy in Kamjong. But the ambush was fierce which had resulted no casualty when the militants near Aishi village within Kamjong district along the India-Myanmar border attacked the Assam Rifles convoy with three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) around5:35 am, before the fierce encounter. New step to promote Manipur tourism
