Police Raising Day observed in Kokrajhar

The police administration has been stepping and conducting operation against militants in the region and have a  several successful to arrest and recovered huge cache of arms from militant outfits, said IGP (BTAD) Dr L R Bishnoi on the occasion of 67th Assam Police raising day at Dimalgaon today in Kokrajhar. 

The occasion was organised by Kokrajhar police administration along with rest of the state   at Reserve police ground, Dimalgaon with colourful programme where Bishnoi hoisted the Assam police flag with guard of honour presented from Assam police jawans. 

Various ranks of police officers were given away honour and bravery award for their best services while discharging their duty and  responsible in their service life.

Bishnoi has also planted saplings at reserve police complex to mark the occasion in the presence of SP Kokrajhar Shyamal Prasad Saikia, besides organized a meeting with senior citizen, NGO along with police personnel to meet better relation and co-operation to gain more mutual understanding among  common peoples and police.

Bishnoi said that Assam police was working  for the social integration and together for the safeguard of common masses . He said that police administrations have been working hard to check militancy activity in the region and have successful of arrest and recovery of huge cache of arms since few months from militant outfits including NDFB-S, Adivasi militants, fundamentalist.He has told that all kinds of militancy activities would be out and building of peace and integrity was the prime aim of the police administration, he added.

Security forces have intensified their combing operation against militant outfits in the region.  Three link men/over ground worker of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction were apprehended by security forces in a joint operation at Ripu Reserve Forest on Sunday morning in Kokrajhar district. A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel.
