Assam Governor inaugurates Photo Exhibition in the city

Assam Governor Lt. Gen (Rtrd) Ajay Singh has inaugurated a photo exhibition entitled Spirit of Independent India award winning and selected photograph from the 20th National Photo Contest organized by Photo Division Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday evening at the NEDFi Haat, in Guwahati.

The event was jointly hosted in Guwahati for the first time in north eastern region by Kreative Klickers (KK), a Guwahati based society for promotion of creative photographs in the region recognized by Federation of Indian Photography (FIP) and PHOTO DIVISION which was supported by the Guwahati branch of DAVP. Debatosh Sengupta Director Photo Division of the information and broadcasting ministry B Narzary ADG(M&C) PIB Guwahati, Rina Sonowal joint Director DAVP NE Region were also present in the inaugural session. Kreative Klickers born on May 31, 2007 with a few like minded amateur photographers has completed one glorious year of existence and its celebrating its 1st anniversary in the form of this national exhibition. Kreative Klickers is a self financing organization committed to serve the photo fraternity in the region by creating national and international level platform for photographers and highlight the echoes of the region in particular. On earlier occasion too the organization conducted workshops, took out photography tours and exhibited photographs in Guwahati. Kreative Klickers members comprise of students, teachers, retired persons, self employees, Govt employees, housewives and media persons who have a craze for art and creative photography. Notably, Kreative Klickers organized its maiden exhibition at South Point School, Guwahati on October 5, 6 and 7 in 2007.
