Kokrajhar PHE to get new building
BTC executive member for Public Health Engineering department Lwmsrao Daimary laid foundation stone for construction of Director cum CHD office building of PHE department at PHE office complex in Kokrajhar town today.
The office building would be constructed at an amounting of 2.60 crores under BTC (AOP) of 2015-16 financial year where director cum CHD office,Kokrajhar division-1 of PHE and Subdivisional of PHE would be attached, besides official facilities like conference hall, complex will also be available.
Daimary laying foundation stone said that BTC administration has bed stepping to meet up of drinking water facilities among common citizens in the region through proper functioning of the water supply schemes.
He said that PHE department has stressed to revive defunct water supply projects in the entire council and proper implementation of the needs of the supplying waters would be sounded so that publics can get available of the drinking water.
'Supllying of drinking waters among common public was the prime job of the concern department to bringing of healthy health among citizens',Daimary added.
Among others, BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary and officials were also present on the occasion.
Daimary further laid foundation stone to construct office of the deputy commissioner of Excise cum CHD and superintendent of excise at Dimalgaon in Kokrajhar. The office would be constructed at an amounting of 1.72 crore.

A NDFB-S cadre was apprehended from Dimruguri under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district today. Based on information, a joint operation was launched by army and Kokrajhar police and apprehended the rebel. He was identified as Pankaj Brahma alias Kamlan alias Kayal, 18, One 7.65 mm pistol, a magazine and three rounds live ammunition of 7.65 mm were recovered from him, said a senior police officer. The Kokrajhar police have arrested two more people for trying to extort money from a contractor of NTPC in Salakati. Two others were held on Sunday night from Basugaon town of Chirang district. All they were trying to extort money from the contractor in Harigaon on Saturday in the name of NDFB. Govindo Barman was caught red handed. It was he who revealed the names of two more persons to be picked up from Basugaon. They were identified as Krishna Debnath and Utpal Pandit. Earlier two others were Govindo Debnath and Biplob Debnath were arrested.

One more extornist arrested by police who was involved with extortion demand from a contractor of NTPC under Salakati police outpost in Kokrajhar late last night. Four persons were rushed to Harigaon yesterday to receive demand money in the name of NDFB-S where one Govindo Barman was red handed arrested, and on his revealed another involved person was arrested last night and two others are absconding. The arrested was identifiec as Biplob Debnath while absconding are identified as Krishna Debnath and Utpal Pandit. A fake NDFB-S was arrested by public from Harigaon area under Salakati police outpost this evening in Kokrajhar. The arrested was identified as Gobindo Barman of Banderchara, was arrested red handed by common publics while coming to take demanded money on behalf of NDFB-S from a contractor of NTPC in Kokrajhar. Security forces have claimed to capture a cadre of Rabha Viper Army (RVA) room Cechapani under Kajigaon police station on Friday in Kokrajhar district. Acting on an information about the presence of militant cadres in the area, a joint team of Assam Police and 7 Jat regiment of Army conducted operation and apprehended a cadre of the RVA militant outfit organisation. The cadre was identified as Mopen Rabha (23) of Cechapani. A 7.65 mm pistol, two live bullets of 7.65 mm pistol, 40 amunitions of AK-47, five KGs of explosions and incriminating documents were recovered from him.
