Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

Security forces apprehended  a  cadre of United Gorkha Peoples’ Organisation from Chetri Basti under Serfanguri PS today in Kokrajhar district. Based on a specific information, a joint team of  security forces belonging to Army,CRPF and Police launched an operation in the general area of Sefanguri and managed to arrest a UGPO cadre  from Chetri Basti,who is also likman of NDFB(S). The cadre was identified as Dipak Kumar Newar Pradhan,of Chetri basti. The arrested was involved in money extortion,providing administrative support to NDFB(S) cadres. A pistol , ammunition was recovered from him.

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary expressed his deep sorrow over demise of senior journalist and editor of Bodosa daily Chino Basumatary at a private hospital in Guwahati on Tuesday.   'Media fraternity lost a dedicated journalist in the state with death of Basumatary', Mohilary said.  Former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma, MLB Pramila Rani Brahma have also expressed their deepest shock over demise of Chino, who had played eye opener of Bodo newspaper in the region.  'The Bodo society as well as whole state lost great dedicated journalist, which has become unfulfilled situation in the state', the leaders added.
