Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

BPF president Hagrama Mohilary announced two more candidates to contest ensuing election at a party meeting at Dotma in Kokrajhar on Sunday.  Rabiram Narzary, newly unified with BPF from BPPF has need nominated for Kokrajhar West and Milan Boro, Bawanipur constituencies.  With today's announcement BPF's candidate toll goes 16 seats. Three injured on Bear attack

A forest official was seriously injured when he was attacked by wild bear at Alu farm in Halugaon area of Kokrajhar district. According to forest official, Nilmoni Brahma, a staff of Amguri forest beat office under Gaurang Forest Range  was attacked by the bear this morning around 10 am. Girl rescued from North East express at Kokrajhar

A minor girl was rescued from the North East express train at Kokrajhar railway station here today. Getting information, members of Kokrajhar based NGO Nedan foundation and security forces belonging to Kokrajhar police and CRPF carried out a rescue operation and rescued the girl.
