Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

Monalisa Sarma, president of Kokrajhar district committee of JUA paid floral tribute.  Press Club expressed deep sorrow over untimely demise of late Basumatary and prayed for eternal peace of his soul.   
It is shock news that a torch bearer of journalism in Lower Assam’s Bodoland region and senior journalist and Editor of Bodosa,a daily newspaper published from Kokrajhar Chino Basumatary passes away this morning at 9 AM at a private Nursing Home in Guwahati. The 13 death anniversary of folk artist Pratima Barua Pandey was observed today at Milan Bazar in Kokrajhar with a day long various programmes along with rest of the state,. Sasastra Seema Bal (SSB) posted along the Indo-Bhutan border at Dholkola and Tukribasti under Haltugaon forest division recovered a Deer horn in an operation conducted on Sunday in Kokrajhar district.  SSB jawans from 16th Battalion (Bn) conducted an operation against poacher and smuggler inside deep forest area of the Haltugaon division and accordingly managed to recovery of a Deer horn, besides destroying of some objectionable goods that used by poachers in the operation. The All Assam Students Union(AASU), Kokrajhar district unit along with rest of the state, marking the 99th foundation day of the Assam Chatra Sanmilon (Now called AASU) lighted 99 pieces of candles on Friday evening at Children Park in Kokrajhar. Suspected money looter vandalised an ATM along the JD Road near Mijingk Nwgwr early hours this morning in Kokrajhar town. According to police, a group of four-five persons came on a Bolero vehicle vandalised an ATM around 3 AM trying to snatch money of the ATM,but failed to take away money following strong police patrolling in the town whole night.The An investigation has started into incident and involved culprits would be booked in early manner, said a senior police officer in Kokrajhar.
