Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

Arms and ammunitions recovered

Assam Police and CRPF jawans apprehended a person and recovered huge arms and ammunitions on Sunday evening at Chapaguri in Chirang district. Security forces intercepted a Maruti WagonR with one M16 Rifle, silencer, one .303 rifle and 140 round ammunitions. Police arrested one Rajkumar Prasad, hailing from Dimapur. The arms and ammunitions suspected for NDFB(S), police said.

AIUDF leader killed

Police arrested three persons in connection with the killing of AIUDF leader Suleman Ali Mandal in Gossaigaon on Thursday.Familiy members said that Suleman was murdered late last by three youth of the same village at around 11.30 pm when they called for night duty in the village. Later they recovered his body. The murderer had also looted cash Rupees 20,000 and an ATM card.The culprits were identified as Jamad Sheik, Khale Ali Sheik and Abdul Sheik.

CM's door to door visit in Balapara

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi faced no less ire of the people for alliance with BPF who has been allegedly fomenting trouble in BTAD during his day long visit to the trouble torn areas on Monday.Gogoi had listened to the victims’ family member when he visited them door to door in Balapara area in Gossaigaon subdivision.The chief minister visited five family members a couple of days after the miscreants killed their members.     Apart from financial assistance and steps for early rehabilitation, the chief minister openly announced exemplary punishment to the perpetrators.“Let the probe indict the perpetrators. CM to visit BTAD

Security has been beefed up in the BTAD area on the eve of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s visit on Wednesday to take stock of the sitution in the region. Gogoi will visit in Baksa and Kokrajhar. He is likely to land at Narayanguri at around 12 pm and at Balapara at 2 pm.

Mohilary demands more police

BPF President and BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary demanded more police station and police outpost in the BTAD area to counter militancy as well as anti-social activity. Mohilary said that the council had demanded for establishing more police station and outposts in the remote areas of BTAD, but yet government has not been giving stressed on the demands. Full scale combing operation in BTAD

NIA team arriving today

A fact finding NIA team is arriving in BTAD areas for preliminary probe into the BTAD bloodletting. The investigation agency team is scheduled to hold talks with senior officials of police, army and para military forces.The investigation team agreed to probe the bloodbath after the Chief Minister wrote to the home ministry seeking a thorough probe into it.
