Parties distribute relief in Margherita
Party members of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) Saturday visited flood affected areas in Margherita where more than 2000 people are sheltering in relief camps. AGP General Secretary (Central Committee) Diganta Saikia said, “We distributed baby food products and Phenoyl to flood affected people at Ledo Maulang L.P School.” The areas affected by flooding waters under Margherita Panchayat are Bhitor Powai, Alubari, Makum qila, Ledo, Ketetong, Margherita Town, Hamukjan, Jagun and several other villages.
Margherita Constituency M.L.A Pradyut Bordoloi along with members of Margherita Block Congress Committtee also visited the flood affected areas and distributed essential commodities like rice, mustard oil, flat rice, baby food products, pulses, salt, biscuit and vegetables.
Members of the Margherita Journalists’ Association too came in to distribute food items to those affected by flood in Maulang Gaon sheltering at the Ledo Maulang L.P School.

MARGHERITA: A Legal Helpline Cell has fetched huge hope for the people of Margherita. Courtesy Legal Awareness Network Centre Margherita which opened up the venture on Monday. Security forces nabbed the linkman of a rebel outfit during the stepped up operation in Margherita on Sunday. MARGHERITA: The Margherita Police on Saturday arrested four youths after the All Assam Schedule Caste Youth Federation Central Committee leaders tried to blackmail a local SBI employee. Identified as Jayanto Das(38) Ripu Das(32),Bolendra Das(37) and Pabitra Das, they allegedly demanded ₹7 lakh from the bank employee charging him of possessing a fake caste certificate, an allegation which the banker denied. The bank employee then lodged a formal complaint before the police who arrested the youths. MARGHRITA: Despite a stepped up counter insurgency operation rebels keep moving to monger troubles along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border these days. Security forces claimed to have captured two NSCN-R rebels in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday and seized some incriminating materials from their possession. MARGHERITA: The Asom Sangrami Chah Shramik Sangha affiliated to CPI(ML) Panitola Circle Committee on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Tinsukia District Deputy Commissioner to increase the daily wages of tea workers to Rs 350.
