Discovery club win B divn football league
Discovery Club, Kokrajhar won the B division football league 2015 of the Kokrajhar district spirtx asdivistion defeating Daloabari Bingko Club in 2-0 in the final match being played at Magurmari ground in Kokrajhar on Sunday.
Bipul Pathak netted first goal in 17 minutes of first half and Mitinga Basumatary scored another goal in 79 minutes of second half against Bingko club and won the league championship in 2-0 goal.
BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary and president of KDSA Mono Kumar Brahma gave away the championship trophy along with cash Rs. 3000 while social activist Indra Mahan Koch gave away runners up trophy along with cash 2,000.
Defying heavy shower thousands of football lover and spectators from variius parts of the district thronged the ground and enjoyed sports taste in the district.

Security forces claimed to have killed a NDFB-Songbijit cadre in an encounter at Pepsue along the Indo-Bhutan border under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district on Monday evening. Police said that on getting information about presence of the militants at Pepsue area, they raided the area. During exchange of gun fire an NDFB cadre died on the spot. Forest officials managed to seize Sal timbers laden in a truck in a regular checking at Dahlapara Toll gate under Bijni sub-division in Chirang district today.Forest officials from Rakaldhubi Beat office getting tiptop information about carrying of timbers checked the truck and recovered the valuable Sal timbers. The truck bearing registration No.WB-CC-7284 was on way to Barpeta carrying illegal Sal timbers from Kokrajhar.The cost of the recovery timbers would be over 12 lakhs. The staffs of the truck were absconded from the spot and truck has been kept at Bongaigaon forest depot office, a forest official informed.
