Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma’s entry into BJP will put the people in utter confusion over the chief ministerial candidate.
Hours after Dr Sarma unofficially joined BJP, Gogoi said that if Sarma is made the chief ministerial candidate then what is in store for Sarbananda Sonowal and Siddharth Bhattacharya.
Talking to reports Gogoi wondered why and how Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma joined BJP a day after he was proud of his party’s victory in the Tiwa autonomous council polls.

KOKRAJHAR: The Assam Santhali Students Union on Tuesday staged dharna in Kokrajhar raising their demand for granting ST status. Nearly 200 Santhali students thronged Kokrajhar and staged a two hour long demonstration raising a slow of demands in front of Kokrajhar DC Office premises. Talking to Assam Times the protesting leaders said,"without ST status it would be difficult for them to progress. We want ST status to be uplifted. NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court is expected to clear its judgment on the validity of panchayat certificate as supportive documents to update NRC. A division bench of Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice FA Nariman is set to pass the much awaited judgment by Tuesday afternoon.
