BPF felicitates students

The Bhotgaon and Baruapara primary committee of BPF party felicitated the first division holder students of HS & HSLC final examinations at a function held at Bhotgaon ME school today in Kokrajhar. 

At total of 32 students from both examination was given warm felicitation with traditional Pulam Gamocha and gift bundle in the presence of guardian and students. 

Former minister and Kokrajhar East MLA Pramila Rani Brahma grace as chief guest and felicitated the students. 

Brahma said that the felicitation function was organised to create educational atmosphere among society in the area. She had urged the students to be dedicated more whole taking higher studies in life. 

Among others, Umarani Basumatary, secretary women BPF was also present in the meeting with Sue man Ali Mandal in the  chair. 

Peoples from Bhotgaon and Baruapara area of Kokrajhar expressed their happiness for holding felicitation programme for the first time ever from a party that held to felicitate first division holder students in the area.

Workshop on Golden langur census organised

A census technique workshop on Golden Langur was organised by Kokrajhar Wildlife division in association with Primate Research centre NE India at Choraikola in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. Hospital wall kills boy

A seven-years-old boy was succumbed to hospital following wall collapsed at Ghoskata Korida Madati sub-centre today in Kokrajhar district. According to family source, the boy identified as Bhim Brahma, son  of Bircharan Brahma of Korida Madati village was received serious injuries following wall collapsed along the newly constructed wall at Korida Madati sub-centre  this afternoon around 1 pm when he was playing with his friends. He was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar Rup Nath Brahma civil hospital for treatment and succumbed to hospital.

NDFB(S) cadre killed

Two hard core cadre of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction (NDFB-S) were killed in an encounter with security forces on Sunday at North Auzarguri under Serfanguri police station in a joint operation launched by police and army in Kokrajhar district.  Based on a tip-off about presence of militant outfits, security forces launched a joint operation against militant cadres where heavy exchange of fire was held and two cadres were killed on the spot by around 6 am in the morning.  They were identified as Jwngswrang Basumatary alias Ladai and Sanjib Basumatary. Link man arrested

Security forces from Police and Army nabbed a link man of NDFB-Songbijit faction in a joint operation from Mainaguri under Serfanguri PS in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.  The link man was identified as Ila Narzary of Belgudi village. Health camp at Saralpara

A total of 640 patients from greater Saralpara thronged the medical and awareness camp to receive medical check-up on Saturday along the Indo-Bhutan border of Kokrajhar district, was organized by Army unit of Red Horns Division. NSLA cadre arrested

Security forces belonging to police and army apprehended a senior cadre of National Santhali Liberation Army (NSLA) in a joint operation launched today at Shiyalmari area under Serfanguri police station in Kokrajhar. The arrested cadre was identified as Enverest Tudu alias Jambua of Srirampur. He was involved with extortion,terrorist activites in the region. A pistol, live bullet and a mobile handset was recovered from him.

Police arrested two gang of Bike lifter from Gutipara area under Bagribari police station in Kokrajhar district today. A police team of Bagribari police station able to arrest the bike lifter with stolen Bajaj Pulsar 150 cc bike bearing registered no AS- 19G-1932 from a Assam police constable Gulzar Hussain of Salbari village.
