Gamlin joins as Delhi chief secy

Despite stiff resistance from Arvind Kejriwal and his lobby senior IAS officer from Assam Shakuntala Gamlin took over as Delhi chief secretery. 

Shakuntala, the daughter of former minister Lalit Doley and wife of former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Jarbom Gamlin has alleged intimidation by a section of bureacrates not to take over. 

He was Lt Governor Jung who appointed her in the top post defying the chief minister's opposition who calls her corrupt.

A Special Rhino Protection Force is coming up in Assam. It will help Kaziranga, Manas and Pobitora check rhino poachings in near future. Union minister for forest and environment Prakash Javadekar is deeply concern over the rampant rhino poaching incidents that stifles the world heritage site. Local residents rushed to Javadekar as soon as the Union minister arrived in the national park on Friday to assess the poaching incidents in Kaziranga. Accompanied by state forest minister Rockybul Hussain, Javadekar assured the local residents that a slew of measures would have to be in place to firmly deal with the rhino poaching incidents. In a bizarre incident that touches off seismic waves of shock and anger, two minor girls were believed to have been killed after being raped in Karimganj district bordering Bangladesh. The Central Bureau of Investigation is in a process to file a fresh FIR naming two powerful Congress MLAs in the Saradha scam. According to sources, the FIR would help the country’s premier investigating agency easily question the suspects in the multi crore scam that rocked Assam, West Bengal and Odisha.  Rainwaters are back to wreak havoc in Guwahati. Many areas in the premier north eastern city have come under the rainwaters following the one hour long heavy downpour on Friday morning. The downpour began at 7 in the morning which halted only at 8-30 wreaking havoc with waters inundating the Guwahati-Shillong Road. During his two days visit to the state, Javadekar is scheduled to visit the Kaziranga a week after the National Park got out of the ravaging flood waves.
