Mary Kom on silver screen

The wait is over. Finally, Mary Kom is on the big screen. Courtesy Priyanka Chopra. The Bollywood film dealing with the life of the world champion boxer hits the big screen across the country on Friday.

Her fans are thronging in thousands in many cinema halls across the state from Friday to get a glimpse of the film based on the life and struggle of the boxer from the trouble-torn Manipur. The movie seems to have packed a punch with eye-catching posters across Guwahati.

A number of multiplexes and movies have started screening the film where a major portion was shot in Manipur. Leading actress Priyanka Chopra enacts the title role in the movie made under Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions. The flick has been directed by Omung Kumar.
