Study tour

The study tour of the students from border areas from Kokrajhar and Chirang district visited historical places and educational institutions in Delhi and Agra under sponsorship of 16th Battalion(Bn) of SSB, Ranighuli in Kokrajhar district.

The tour team comprised of 10 students from Kokrajhar and Chirang district reached Delhi on April 25  and visited several historical places like Red fort,Fatehpur Sikhiri,Lotus temple,Parliament House,India gate in New Delhi and Tajmahal in Agra.

It was unique and initiative programme under SSB Battalion for the development of students of remote places in the border area who can not effort such tour and to make aware them about their country’s historical connect and the cultural aspects.The tour team is still enjoying their tour at Delhi and likely to return to Kokrajhar on April 30,said a SSB official.

Women’s Day celebrated at NTPC

Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project also joined the rest of the country in celebrating International Women’s Day here at Salakati on Tuesday in Kokrajhar district. UtpalChakrabarti, Group General Manager of NTPP spoke at length about the history of this august day and how at present society, women are leading at important positions throughout the world. Study tour for border youth

A flag-off ceremony of education study tour of border youth has been organised by 16th Bn SSB Ranighuli at thbattalion headquarter in Kokrajhar on Monday. A total of eight youtgs which comprises of five girls and three boys were selected from the different locations of bordering area for educational excursion to Kolkata (West Bengal). Bhaskar Pradip Mahanta Memorial lecture
