BNC-ANCC visited relief camps
Two umbrella organizations both from Bodo and Adivasi community Bodo National Conference (BNC) and Adivasi National Convention Committee (ANCC) today visited the relief camps in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts today to take stock of the affairs of camp inmates and with a good will mission.
The visiting team visited and distributed materials among inmates at Pakriguri,Chirugotu,Balatonga,Joypur camps in Kokrajhar and Nangdarbari Gurubasha camp in Chirang district.
The BNC and ANCC jointly made an appeal all extends help to restore peace and normalcy and at the same time they urged the government to ensure safe and security to the innocent people besides providing logistic support in the relief camps.
Former Assam minister and MLA Chandan Brahma said the unwanted incident was created by the extremist group NDFB (S) but not by the Bodo community as a whole. He said both the communities are peace loving people and so the permanent peace must be re-established. He called upon all to stand united against the ghastly act of terrorist elements.
Birsing Munda, commander-in-chief of the Birsa Commando Force (BCF) said the Bodo and Adivasi community were old relationship, due were livelihood in the area of BTAD so we should maintain peace and harmony in the area. There is nothing to raise communal thinking among us.
The BTC administration distributed relief materials at Anthaibari, Pakriguri in Kokrajhar to the affected inmates post carnage on December 23 by NDFB(S) militants. Chnada Brahma Ex- State Minister formally distributed the materials to camp inmates.
Indra Mahan Brhama, MCLA BTC, Jabriash Kaka,chairman Adivasi Cobra Militant of Assam, Lakhiram Tudu, Ex- EM BTC, Sekhar Yadav MCLA BTC, Mithinga Basumatary President ABWWF among others visited the relief camps.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
