Eerie silence in blast-hit Patgaon
An eerie silence prevails in Patgaon a day after three explosions rocked Kokrajhar district leaving three injured. People, mostly, in the blast-hit areas have preferred to keep themselves inside their homes fearing more explosions on Tuesday. Security forces are in these areas have been patrolling on the roads to thwart further explosion attempts. Checking of the Kokrajhar bound vehicles have been intensified on the streets. Army, police and para military forces are continuing operation to nab the culprits involved in the triple blast. Meanwhile, condemnation is pouring in from all sides. The various organizations---political and non political alike have condemned the incident and demand strict measures to curb these. These include the All Bodo Students Union(ABSU),All Bodo Women Welfare Federation(ABWWF),BPF and BPPF. BTC executive member and BPF leader Mono Kumar Brahma visited Patgaon and took stock of the situation on Tuesday. Talking to Assam Times, Brahma demanded strong measures to deal with the anti-social activities were common people have to bear the brunt. ABSU president Promod Boro alleged lack of tight security which was why that miscreants exploded the grenades. He demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants and their exemplary punishment. BPPF president Rabiram Narzary called it unfortunate and blamed utter security mismanagement for the explosions. ABWWF leaders also demanded strong measures against the miscreants.

An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel.
