NIA holds Gaonburah, 5 others

NIA probing the Burdwan bombing case has arrested 6 more villagers from Barpeta on Wednesday a day before the investigating team left for Bangladesh. All these villagers including a woman were picked up from from Chatala village.

Five of these villagers including the Chatala village gaonburah are being kept at the NIA regional office in Guwahati for intense grilling. Others include Saiful Islam and his wife Batashi Begum.

SDRF jawans are on a vigorous operation in search of the 12 missing people who were believed to have been dumped to the Beki river after killing by miscreants at Khagrabari in Narayanguri area in Baksa district.The search operation began at 9 in the morning from Khagrabari village, the epicenter of the mayhem where miscreants set on fire 50 houses after indiscriminate firing on Friday night.Women and children in large number were shot dead when they ran out of the homes.
