SDRF jawans are on a vigorous operation in search of the 12 missing people who were believed to have been dumped to the Beki river after killing by miscreants at Khagrabari in Narayanguri area in Baksa district.
The search operation began at 9 in the morning from Khagrabari village, the epicenter of the mayhem where miscreants set on fire 50 houses after indiscriminate firing on Friday night.
Women and children in large number were shot dead when they ran out of the homes. The Baksa district administration has a list of 22 people. The bodies of 10 were recovered during the last four days.
Now the search operation will continue till Barpeta to fish out the bodies of the remaining untraced people.
The miscreants were believed to have shot dead some of them near the Beki river. Some others were learnt to have jumped into the river amid darkness.
