VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

Senior Women’s National Football Championship

Tripura beat Mizoram 3-1 in today’s match of the 21st Senior Women’s National Football Championship (North East Zone) being played  at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) ground here in Kokrajhar. For Tripura Ganga scored two goals in 23 and 43 minutes. Ana Lakshan scored the third goal for Tripura in 19 minutes. For Mizoram, Eden Tharai reduced the margin in 38 minutes. Assam defeated Arunachal Pradesh

Assam defeated Arunachal Pradesh 4-0 in the inaugural match in the 21st Senior Women’s National Football Championship,2015(Northeastern zonal) being kicked off here at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar today. For Assam, Ranjumoni Brahma netted her first goal in the very beginning minute and Pranati Basumatary again netted another goal in 21 minutes which led the team 2-0 in the first half. During the second half,Sonia Marak lonely scored two goals more in 48 and 90 minutes respectively for Assam team and won the match 4-0. Tripura will take on Mizoram on Saturday. NDFB-S cadre arrested

Security forces belonging to police and army in a joint operation apprehended a NDFB-S cadre from Takampur area under Kachugaon police station today in Kokrajhar district.  Based on a secret information about the presence of militants, security forces conducted an operation and managed to apprehend a cadre of NDFB-S from Takampur.  The cadre was identified as Nadip Narzary @ Daniel Narzary  of No.1 Takampur.  He was involved with extortion, kidnapping, recruiting of new cadres  and nefarious activities in the area.  A pistol (factory made), two live ammunition and grenade was recovered from him.

Assam bandh affects normal life in Kokrajhar

Normal life in Kokrajhar, heart town of BTAD administration was paralyzed today following 12-hours Assam bandh called by National Federation for New States,was passed of peaceful demanding new states across the country, supported by ABSU, JACAS, PJACBM, NDFB (P). All kinds of road transport communication, business institutions like bank, bazaar, market, shop were remained closed during the bandh which was started from 5AM today.
