VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

Student injured in mishap

A student of Bodoland University received serious injured when a bike had head on collision with a tractor along the Mwiderkhoro Road near Masjid on Sunday evening in Kokrajhar town.  According to eye witness, a university student was coming on a bike met head on collided with a tractor from opposite direction and received serious injured on his leg and body. The student was identified as Dwithun Basumatary of Patgaon Bwtiabili, who was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital. A team of police official rushed the spot to take stock of the incident. 

SLRM certificates distribution

A total of 150 master trainers’ training certificates  were given away at a programme held at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar on Sunday. A 15-days long training programme was conducted on Solid and Liquid Resource Management(SLRM),organised by Kokrajhar Municipality Board(KMB) and was designed by India Green Service(IGS) to train master trainers’ to build neat and clean situation among society under municipality board among educated youth and citizens.  In order to make good relation and co-ordination with the citizens, the 16th Battalion(Bn) of Sasastra Seema Bal(SSB),Ranighuli  distributed blankets,study materials whihch included books,pen,sports items among old aged persons and orphan children of Alayaran , orphanage Kokrajhar in the presence of high guests of Bhutanese counter part on Saturday in Kokrajhar. 2 NDFB-S linkmen arrested

Security forces have claimed to arrest two linkmen of the NDFB-S from Patgaon area today in Kokrajhar district.  Acting on a tiptop information about the movement and working of linkmen, a joint team if security forces from army, CRPF and police conducted an operation and able to apprehend two persons during the raid from Kalasi under Patgaon outpost. Surrendered NDFB killed

A surrendered NDFB was killed and another received seriously injured in a clash among the group at the outfit’s camp at Sudempuri in Kokrajhar town this evening. Police said Darendra Basumatary, who is stated to be from Dotma Alengmari in Kokrajhar died on the spot when he was shot at from close range by another member of the camp Rakesh Brahma after a quarrel. Another person Aninda Daimary of Sonitpur district was received seriously injured. UGPO cadre held

Security forces apprehended  a  cadre of United Gorkha Peoples’ Organisation from Chetri Basti under Serfanguri PS today in Kokrajhar district. Based on a specific information, a joint team of  security forces belonging to Army,CRPF and Police launched an operation in the general area of Sefanguri and managed to arrest a UGPO cadre  from Chetri Basti,who is also likman of NDFB(S). The cadre was identified as Dipak Kumar Newar Pradhan,of Chetri basti. The arrested was involved in money extortion,providing administrative support to NDFB(S) cadres. A pistol , ammunition was recovered from him.

Adieu Chino Basumatary
