VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

NDFB-S cadre arrested

Chirang police under overall guided by BTAD (IGP) LR Bishnoi and Chirang SP able to arrest a cadre of NDFB-S from Do lagoon area under Dealing a on PS on Wednesday morning in Chirang district.  The arrested cadre was identified as Leith Narzary@Lafa, was a senior section commander of Kokrajhar platoon and member of 33rd batch. He joined the outfit organization in 2007.  He was a wanted cadre of NIA, wax involved with Adivasi carnage at Ultapani of December, 2014.  A pistol, magazine and 148 ammunition of AK 56 were recovered from his possession.

UPP terms Modi's Bodoland visit dissatisfied

The United Peoples Party (UPP) terms that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bodoland visit on Tuesday was dissatisfied as because Modi was silence over announcement of special package to BTAD.  Urkhao Gwra Brahma, president of UPP while speaking the reporters at Kokrajhar Press Club on Tuesday said that the poll pact agreed in between BPF and BJP would be self damages for the ensuing assembly elections in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured for more  development commitment for BTAD including upgradation to Deemed University of Kokrajhar based Central Institute of Technology (CIT), granting of Scheduled Tribes (Hills) status to Bodo Kochary, who are living in Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao districts of Assam. Kokrajhar all set to welcome Modi

Kokrajhar is all set to accord warm welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar. NSLA cadre arrested

Security forces belonging to police and army in a joint operation managed to arrest an active cadre of NSLA (anti talk faction) from Serfanguri area today in Kokrajhar district.  The cadre was identified as Robvan Hembram@Chunda.  A 7.65 pistol and a live bullet was recovered from him. 

Koch Rajbongsi's stages dharna

Hundreds of activists and common publics of Koch Rajbongsi Sanmilito Mancha stages 3-hours protest dharna at Rasmela ground on Sunday in protest against PM Modi visit on January 19 in Kokrajhar.  The mancha strongly slammed the BJP led NDA govt for not granting and solutions of demands from Koch Rajbongsi community.  Biswajit Roy, leader of the mancha has warned for vigorous mass agitation if PM Modi do not grant ST status to the community and Kamatapur state during his Kokrajhar visit.
