VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

BPF not involved in killings: Mohilary

BPF President and BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary said that BPF and ex-BLT are not involved with the killing of innocent peoples in BTAD region. Mohilary told Assam Times that BPF and Ex-BLT are not involved with any massacre in the region. He said that main involved culprits would be booked through the investigation as the government has initiated for investigation into incidents through NIA. He has expressed his hopefulness and said that culprits will be arrested and punished after investigations.

BTAD miscreants being identified!

The trouble mongers in BTAD will be identified in a day or two. Curfew relaxed for four hours in Kokrajhar

The indefinite curfew imposed in Kokrajhar since last night had relaxed for four hours today from 12 noon to 4 pm on its second day of imposition in the district and again resumed after 4 pm in the entire district, said district magistrate in Kokrajhar.Peoples in Kokrajhar have been facing hardships during curfew as all business, shop, market and road communications were remained closed. ADGP Rout visits Kokrajhar

Assam additional director general of police AP Rout said that there are 10 additional paramilitary companies arrived in BTAD to take security measures, of which three for Kokrajhar district. Taking stock of the Balapara incident and Rout visited the killing spot at Balapara under Tulsibil police outpost in Gossaigaon sub-division, Kokrajhar on Friday. He said that NDFB (Songbijit faction) was behind Balapara killing based on information with the police. The government sent additional 10 paramilitary companies to the BTAD region. BPPF demands high level inquiry

BPPF party demanded a high level inquiry into the serial killing at Balapara village late last night and punishes the involved culprits with the incidents. Rabiram Narzary, president of BPPF and BTC member and ex-MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma while addressing press meet here today at party office in Kokrajhar expressed their suspects that there was high conspiracy from government itself into killing of common publics. Additional Director general police AP Rawat is assessing the law and order situation in BTAD where 11 people were killed and 7 others including a newsman sustained injury in a fresh orgy of violence during the last 24 hours.Apart from deploying more security, the Centre has agreed to rush ten more CRPF companies to deal with the situation.Security forces are spreading tentacles to flush out the trouble mongers. Journalist attacked

Journalist Dhananjoy Nath, staff reporter of Dainik Janasadaran and Secretary of Kokrajhar Press Club  was attacked by the unidentified miscreant on Thursday evening around 7.15 pm. when he was on his way from Kokrajhar Tiniali to Bhutiyapara, his home. Nath said that two motorcycles borne miscreants tried  to kidnap him showing a pistol. When he confronted the miscreant attacked his head with heavy lathi and run away.Later Nath was rushed to MRM Hospital Kokrajhar.
