Arsonists caught amid curfew

 Normalcy is yet to be restored along the Assam-Nagaland border in Golaghat district. Indefinite curfew is in force from 6 in the evening to 6 in the morning.

Security forces on Friday caught three arsonists red-handed when they allegedly tried to torch some abandoned houses in Chetiagaon.

Three additional CRPF companies have been fanning in the affected areas to thwart any attempt by the miscreants who have been unleashing terror these days.

According to sources, eight new pickets had been set up by the CPRF in vulnerable villages. A control room has is being jointly manned by CRPF, Assam Police and Nagaland Police.

The attack by armed miscreants on eight villages in Uriamghat area left two dead and three injured while the miscreants torched around 200 houses.

Over 10,000 people, who fled their houses from eight affected villages, have taken shelter in 10 relief camps.
