16 injured in Tinsukia blast

As many as sixteen people have been injured while a powerful bomb exploded in Tinsukia town at around 1 pm on Saturday. According to information, the blast took place at the busy GNB Road in front of a grocery. The injured people have been rushed to the hospital. High level police and civil officials have arrived in the spot to start operation. Meanwhile, one more crude bomb have been recovered just before a while. Details are awaited.

Security forces arrested three hardcore NDFB rebels on Sunday and seized explosives and arms from thier possession. They were apprehended in a crackdown against the outfit in the state and Nagaland. According to sources, NDFB rebel Sugan Damiary alias Thelka was arrested at Rowta in Udalguri district by the army and a pistol and 500gm of explosives were recovered from him. Acting on a tip off, received from him, the army launched an operation in Rangiya town where two other NDFB cadres Sunil Bora and Ramoni Boro were held. One pistol and three rounds of ammunition were recovered from them. In Nagaland, 14 NDFB ultras were arrested in Mon and Dimapur districts on Saturday.
Assam BJP will take out a massive agitation in December to stop mega dams' construction works in Arunachal Pradesh. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Sunday, BJP state president, Ranjit Dutta said these dams will have adverse impact in the downstream areas of Assam. A hardcore NDFB cadre was killed at an encounter with security forces in Sonitpur district on Sarturday evening. The encounter took place at around 7 in the evening at Bhorajuli area under Bihali police station along Assam Arunachal Pradesh border. The encounter is still going on. Notably, 2 ULFA militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kokrajhar district in the wee hours on Saturday.
