Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has raised doubts over NDA government’s sincerity on the infiltration issue in Assam.
Talking to reporters on Saturday, Gogoi said that the issue of Bangladeshi immigrants eluded minister for external affairs Sushma Swaraj’s talks in her Dhaka visit.
“Why the party, which threatened to push back the immigrants after May 16 failed to properly raise the issue in Bangladesh? That’s why, I have doubt over NDA government’s sincerity in this issue,” said the chief minister.
On the land Indo-B’esh land deal the chief minister said that the NDA government’s stand is not clear.
“I still do stick to the deal. BJP was dead opposed to it. But, of late, I have noticed some softness from the NDA government,” said the Chief Minister who said that Assam would benefit from the deal.
