Kokrajhar boy gets 3rd position

Anarjithom Roy of Kokrajhar BPCM Babyland School has secured third spot sharing with other two students in the HSLC examination, result declared today scoring 579 marks out of 600(97%) and brought a happy educational scenario in the heart town of BTAD. The student and guardians of the school celebrated joyous at the school and wished for happy successful.

Roy, son of Baskarjyoti Roy, a resident of Santinagar Bank Colony in Kokrajhar town brings the limelight result for school in Kokrajhar district scoring all letter marks in all subjects.

Rina Majumdar, Principal of the school has congratulated to Roy and wished for his bright successful.

The four districts of BTAD including Kokrajhar have made 51.87%, Chirang 29.79%; Baksa 59.24% and Udalguri 44.76% passed percentages respectively in the final examinations.

 Two students scored 93 out of 100 marks in Bodo(MIL)-Klinton Boro(Baksa) and Arup Swargiary(Chirang).

Derhasat Basumatary, BTC executive member for Education department congratulated to all passed out students in the BTAD region and wished for good educational situation in the region in coming days.

Rabisangkhar Borgoyary, BTC education director told that there are 21,402 students passed out the examination out of 43,998 appeared students, including 2,414 in first division, 7,192 in second and 11,716 in third divisions in the final examination from four districts.

The Private managed schools in Kokrajhar and Chirang district made bright results then government schools, including the UN Academy, Kokrajhar 98.14%, the BPCM Babyland school 97.29% and the Gyanpuri Rupamani Bathow School has scored 80% respectively.

NDFB-S rebel arrested

A NDFB-S cadre was apprehended from Dimruguri under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district today. Based on information, a joint operation was launched by army and Kokrajhar police and apprehended the rebel. He was identified as Pankaj Brahma alias Kamlan alias Kayal, 18, One 7.65 mm pistol, a magazine and three rounds live ammunition of 7.65 mm were recovered from him, said a senior police officer. Police said the rebel was involved in many cases of extortion and money collection.

Two more extortionists arrested

The Kokrajhar police have arrested two more people for trying to extort money from a contractor of NTPC in Salakati. Two others were held on Sunday night from Basugaon town of Chirang district. All they were trying to extort money from the contractor in Harigaon on Saturday in the name of NDFB. Govindo Barman was caught red handed. It was he who revealed the names of two more persons to be picked up from Basugaon. They were identified as Krishna Debnath and Utpal Pandit. Earlier two others were Govindo Debnath and Biplob Debnath were arrested. 

Barhoongka lift football trophy

One more extornist arrested

One more extornist arrested by police who was involved with extortion demand from a contractor of NTPC under Salakati police outpost in Kokrajhar late last night. Four persons were rushed to Harigaon yesterday to receive demand money in the name of NDFB-S where one Govindo Barman was red handed arrested, and on his revealed another involved person was arrested last night and two others are absconding. The arrested was identifiec as Biplob Debnath while absconding are identified as Krishna Debnath and Utpal Pandit. Police has been stepping to arrest the culprits who were involved with extortion served to common publics in the area, said a police officer.

AIUDF gearing up for Assembly election

Clean India campaign at Kokrajhar

A cleanliness drive was organised at Tilapara area by Sasastra Seema Bal (SSB) fron 16th battalion(Bn) based at Ranighuli under civic action programme on Sunday in Kokrajhar.The drive was started from early morning in the surrounding area of Tilapara market and adjoining schools campus area covering around 1 km from battalion head headquarter Ranighuli.The personnel including officers, sub-ordinate officers and jawans of the battalion contributed their noble cause and with the help of local people, the surrounding market area. Extortionist arrested

A fake NDFB-S was arrested by public from Harigaon area under Salakati police outpost this evening in Kokrajhar. The arrested was identified as Gobindo Barman of Banderchara, was arrested red handed by common publics while coming to take demanded money on behalf of NDFB-S from a contractor of NTPC in Kokrajhar. Barman demanded 50,000 in the name NDFB-S where the contractor had also given away demanded money and he was red handed by publics, said a resident of Salakati. Later, arrested person wax handed over to police.

Barhoongka beat Dowdini at Kagrabari

Barhoongka AC from Kokrajhar beat Dowdini SC from Debargaon 3-1 on Friday and entered into final match of the Tikendra Brahma and Aolang Brahma memorial football trophy in Friday's match plated at Kagrabari ground in Kokrajhar.For Barhoongka, Lamminthang Touthang scored two goals in 9 minutes and 20 minutes and led the team 2-0 in the first half. Daniel LalruaiItuanga again scored another goal in 55 minutes through which Barhoongka gained 3 goals. RVA cadre arrested

Security forces have claimed to capture a cadre of Rabha Viper Army (RVA) room Cechapani under Kajigaon police station on Friday in Kokrajhar district. Acting on an information about the presence of militant cadres in the area, a joint team of Assam Police and 7 Jat regiment of Army conducted operation and apprehended a cadre of the RVA militant outfit organisation. The cadre was identified as Mopen Rabha (23) of Cechapani. A 7.65 mm pistol, two live bullets of 7.65 mm pistol, 40 amunitions of AK-47, five KGs of explosions and incriminating documents were recovered from him.
