NIA to probe BTAD violence: Gogoi

The Assam Government has recommended NIA probe into the BTAD violence where at least 33 people were killed.

Talking to reporters after the cabinet meeting in Dispur, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that this is a fit case for NIA probe.

Gogoi said that his government has sought extra forces from the Centre apart from Cobra forces to firmly deal with the situation.

Dr MMS is the MP from Assam and he should take the moral responsibilty for the violence. The UPA and state government who had been ruling for the last 10 years must be blamed for such butchery. But Congress sees only shadow of Modi on anything. The Congress leaders leaders who used to revel in the luxury and comforts in Delhi offices were always apathetic towards the violence in Kashmir and  Punjab during the 1970's and 1980's. The secular leaders were more philosohical and much less practical in understanding the problems of people in all parts of the country. There was similar violence in 2012 in NE. Then the government should have take precautionary measures to avert the occurance of similar incidents. When there is NO capable ruler or leader at the centre, the state governments will also follow the anarchy. "Yatha Raja Thatha Praja" means "AS THE RULER SO THE RULED". If the king of the country is of good character, with good heart and always thinking of well-being of his subjects, and if he is a spiritual thinker and peaceful minded, his subjects will be like him in all these ways too

Normal life continues to remain disrupted in Karbi Anglong district following the 1,000 hour bandh called by Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State from Monday. But the agitating body has yet to receive any response from the Centre. Vehicular movement refuses to resume on the National Highway under the impact of the bandh called in protest against the delay in announcing the dates for next round of talks. Kaushk Bora has been rescued 24 hours after he went missing. The Digboi Refinery executive director was safe when police rescued him on Monday evening inside the Pengeri Reserved Forest. Yet another rape of 22-year-old woman from Nagaland shocks New Delhi. The incident took place in northwest Delhi’s where the girl from the north eastern region complaint before police that she was raped by her live-in partner on Sunday night. The accused was a 34 year old Nigerian who was her live-in partner who has been picked up after the receipt of the complaint. He allegedly raped the girl at a flat both they shared at Mukherjee Nagar area 9 months ago after she was lured on the pretext of finding her a job in a multi-national company. Jorhat police begins probe into the road mishap that left 70 people in Teok when a passenger bus met with a mishap on Monday. Preliminary investigation suggests it a case of over speeding which was why the driver lost his control over the over loaded bus on its way from Barpeta to Tinsukia.Seventy workers were injured when an over-crowded bus carrying them fell into a ditch on the NH-37. Ten of them are battling for life at the Jorhat Medical College Hospital. According to police, all the passengers were labourers and they were transported for some construction work in Tinsukia.
The 1000 hour bandh has evoked mixed response in Dima Hasao district on Monday. Vehicles are normally plying on the roads in the hills district. Shops and markets, mostly, are running business. School and colleges along with the government offices are opening. The Dima Hasao district administration is closely monitoring the situation. Over 20 hours have passed since Kaushik Bora went misisng. But there is no trace of the Digboi Refinery executive director who is beleived to have been kidnapped on Sunday. The top IOC officer’s mobile phone still is found switched off. He went missing hours after he went out from his official residence towards Pangeri at 10-30 in the morning.His family members lodged the complaint in the afternoon before police recovered his abandoned car near Pengeri on the Digboi-Pengeri-Bordumsa Road. Nagaland expressed grave concern over the 1000-hour Karbi Anglong bandh beginning from Monday apprehending that it would disrupt the normal life in the neighbouring state. A worried Nagaland chief minister TR Zeliang said that with immediate intervention of the Centre is required, else the bandh would paralyzed normal life in Nagaland.In a letter on Sunday to union home minister Rajnath Singh, Zeliang said that the bandh would not only cut off road communication but also affect supply of essential items including foodgrains, medicine, petroleum products etc to Nagaland as well as Manipur.
