UG Brahma takes oath as Cabinet minister

 of Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma have expressed their excited and happiness having sworn in as Cabinet minister of Assam today in Guwahati.

Brahma was elected to the Assam assembly from Chapaguri constituency on UPPL ticket defeating BPF candidate Hitest Basumatary.

 Elder brother of UG Brahma,Putul Chandra Brahma has extended sincere thanks to the newly sworn chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

 UG Brahma was hailed from Chalani Batabari near Dotma in Kokrajhar district. Brahma was ex Rajya Sabha MP and former ABSU president.

 Elder brother of Brahma has expressed hopeful that newly formed government will  able to work for massive development and welfare of the citizens across the state.

He said that the new government must dedicate their services towards social integration and mass development in the state.

He said that citizens from the state are wanting healthy welfare and development among the society.

Meanwhile, several organisations of Bodoland Territorial Region including Nath Yogi Students Union,Sutradhar Sanmiloni and SC students union of BTR area have demanded inclusion of Lawrence Islary,MLA from Kokrajhar East constituency of UPPL party in the council of ministers of Assam cabinet which was sworn in today.

Leaders from the organisations demanded early induction of Islary in the Assam cabinet to represent the Kokrajhar district in the state.

Islary defeated senior BPF leader and former Assam minister Pramila Rani Brahma over 20 margin of votes in the assembly elections.

 Leaders urged the UPPL chief Pramod Boro and chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma to induct Islary in the Assam cabinet in days to come.

The All Bodo Students Union welcomes the formation of the New Government by the BJP, AGP & UPPL alliance in the state. 

In a press statement,ABSU president Dipen Boro has extended congratulation the elevated 15th Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and his team of Ministers who have taken oath today.

" The ABSU is hopeful the new Government in Assam will strive for the peace, harmony and all round development of the downtrodden communities and to address their issues and to strengthen the newly formed BKWAC in speedy manner in the state", ABSU said.

The BTR accord has many provisions to be implemented by government of Assam and Center. 

The All Bodo Students of (ABSU) urge the new government under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as the chief minister will implement the entire BTR Accord clauses for the socio-economic and educational development in the Bodoland Territorial Region in letter and spirit.

The students union also congratulate all the MLAs from UPPL and the elevated two cabinet ministers Urkhao Gwra Brahma from 63 Chapaguri (ST) LAC and  Gabinda Chandra Basumatari from 69 Udalguri (ST) LAC.

ABSU also thank the people of BTR irrespective of communities for massive support in the exercise of democratic process of adult franchise in a peaceful manner and making the strong democracy,the statement said.

APCC delegation at Salakati

Pouring of political leaders are continuing at the Salakati after the killing of ABMSU President Lafikul Islam Ahmed who was shot dead by unidentified armed miscreants at Titaguri bazar in Kokrajhar on August 1 last. 16 injured in lightning

At least sixteen persons received serious injuries due to lightening at two different villages under Gurubasha police outpost in Chirang district late last evening. According to source from the area, sixteen persons received injuries for heavy thunder and lightning yesterday afternoon. The injures were immediately rushed the JSB Hospital, Kajalgaon, who were road construction labors nearby Gurubasha in Chirang district. Two of them are said to be critical.

AGP, BPF want two berths each

The alliance partners in the BJP-led government at Dispur, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) have demanded two ministerial berths each in the forthcoming cabinet ministry expansion in the state that will be taking place by August 15. Both parties want early expansion of cabinet ministry for the smooth functioning of the government. Lafikul buried at Salakati

Amidth huge thronging from all walks of life funeral of Lafikul Islam Ahmed, president of the All BTC Minority Student's Union(ABMSU) was performer at Salakati in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday.Lafikul was shot dead by unidentified armed miscreants on Tuesday evening at Titaguri bazaar in Kokrajhar which has created sensation in the area. The All Bodoland Minority Students’ Union President, Lafikul Islam Ahmed was shot dead Tuesday evening at Titaguri bazaar in Kokrajhar. The incident took place at about 4:30 pm when two helmet bearing armed miscreants on a bike shot at Ahmed from point blank range when he was in a tiles shop. In the indiscriminate firing that ensued a staff of the shop sustained two bullet injuries. BPF eyes more ministerial berth

The BJP led alliance state government under the Chief Ministership Sarbananda Sononwal has been delayed the cabinet ministry expansion since government formed as so far now the government passed 14 months in the state.
