A 50-day Tchoukball coaching camp has started from Friday at Gaurang High School ground in Kokrajhar district. Bibekananda Choudhury, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar cut the red-ribbon to inaugurate the coaching camp in the presence of Tchoukball player and organizers.
Altogether 24-players are participating across the state in the camp, who are selected to participate in the ensuing 11th National senior Tchoukball championship-2017 scheduled to be held with three-day programme scheduled from September 25 to 27 next at Joypukhuri Bodofa Youth Club ground in Golaghat district. The camp has been organized by All Assam Tchoukball Association and players are being imparted training by Tchoukball expert on sporting technique, shooting and its management during the competition games. The camp will be continued till September 20 next.
Choudhury,in his speech extended best wishes to the participants who are taking training in the camp said that it will encourage young budding sport persons in the state. He has lauded the camp organizers which will gain sporting environment in the region with dedicated influenced.
At-least 20 states are participating the national event (men/women) to be held in Golaghat district from across the country. A reception committee was also formed to conduct the national event in the state of Assam.
Ashok Goyary, general secretary of the association told that the National championship will held in Golaghat so far 20 states like Goa, Kerala, Bihar, Uttarakandh, Punjab, Delhi, Maharastra etc. and including Assam are confirmed for participation in the championship.The reception committee is busy while functioning to organize the national championship event in the state of Assam, Goyary said. He said that Tchoukball game was recognized by the Sports Federation of India (SFI) and 20 states are playing these games in the country and it is also recognized in school games.
‘The Assam state team has been fully prepared to be participating the national event. The coaching camp is conducted to make players fully prepared and gaining of self efficiency while participating the sports competition’, said Goyary.
Pandhuram Bhagat, Tchoukball specialist from Maharastra graced as coach and imparting training in the camp. Bhagat said that Assam state has a potentiality of sporting as youths are participating with enthusiastic mood in the camp that has been initiated by Tchoukball association. Participants are being given training and knowledge on Tchoukball how it is being played in competition manner in the sporting arena.
