Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

B’deshi deportation likely Thursday

Stunned by widespread criticism, the Centre is understood to have been preparing to clear the decks for deporting 17 Bangladeshi immigrants by Thursday. Confusion over B’deshi deportation

Union home ministry is believed to have been caught in an utter confusion when the Karimganj district authorities were preparing to deport 17 Hindu Bangladeshi immigrants. PNB disburses loans to entrepreneurs

Punjab National Bank (PNB) in a credit disbursement camp held recently at NIRD, Guwahati, disbursed loan amounts up to rupees 51.20 crore to 408 customers.
