Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

Gangmumei Kamei passes away

Professor Gangmumei Kamei, a member in North Eastern Council (NEC) passed away on Friday at the age 77 years in Imphal. His demise was condoled in a meeting held at the Shillong based NEC Secretariat. Born in the Manipur capital city on 21 October 1939, Prof Kamei was associated with several socio-cultural organizations in the country. He was a member of the advisory committee of the Anthropological Survey of India (1984-87). Prof Kamei was awarded the platinum jubilee honour by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad in 2010 for his contribution to the history & tribal culture. JFA expresses shock at Bihar scribe’s murder

Journalists’ Forum Assam (JFA) expresses shock at the murder of a Bihar based journalist and the mysterious death of a Jharkhand based scribe within 24 hours. Manipur polls on Mar 4&8

Manipur is all set to go to the Assembly polls in two phases on March 4 and March 8 while the counting would take place on March 11 simultaneously with UP, Punjab Goa and Uttarakhand.
